Obverse:

EDPERD REX. Diademed bust left, with sceptre in front.

 

Reverse:

IOLΛ ON EOFERPICI. Voided short cross with expanding limbs joined by two circles. Annulet in one quarter.

 

Good very fine and very rare as the heavy issue. Catalogued as "Cleaned, otherwise good very fine" by Sotheby's, although this is not obvious and is now lightly toned. Of this type, there is only 3 example of this moneyer/mint listed on EMC/SCBI, same die pair as SCBI 29 Merseyside County Museums - number 772. Only 4 examples traced by Freeman (no. 195 (h))
