CNVT RECX A. Bust left, wearing pointed helmet with sceptre in front.
Reverse:
ALFPOLD ON PIHR. Voided short cross with broken annulet enclosing a pellet in angles.
Very fine, toned and rare.
With 2 Fred Rist tickets.
Symons noted the number of surviving number of pointed helmet coins from Worcester at 58 examples from all three moneyers, 22 of which are listed on the EMC as being in institutions. Ælfwold is known at Worcester for the three issues of Cnut and is estimated by Symons to have worked at the mint for between six and nine years.
