Obverse:
RICARD D G REX ANGL Z FRANC D HIB Z AQT. King standing facing in a ship, sword in right hand, shield in left, double satire stops. Satire above sail with French title and ropes split 3-2 - rare.
Reverse:
IHC AVTEM TRANCIENS PER MEDIV ILLORVM IBAT. Florated cross with lis terminals, lions between with crowns above, all within tressure of eight arches, saltire stops, R in centre.
Approaching very fine, slightly small flan but well centred, evidence of crease with associated stress marks to obv and rev but doesnt detract. Overall a pleasing example of this rare issue.
Same obverse die as 1932,0516.2, 1935,0401.6051 and 1968,0412.27 from the British Museum.
