Obverse:
HENRIC DI GRA REX ANG Z FRAN. Crowned facing bust in tressure of arches. Trefoils by neck and in legend.
Reverse:
POSVI DEVM ADIVTORE MEVM, VILLA CALISIE. Long cross pattée dividing the legend, with three pellets in each angle. Trefoils in legend.
Slightly dished flan otherwise good fine and rare. A better than usually encountered example of the last groat produced at the Calais mint, subsequently noted on Renshaw’s ticket as “The best preserved Calais (Trefoil Issue) I have noted”.
