Obverse:

HENRICVS REX III. Crowned facing bust, sceptre in right hand.

Reverse:

WILLEM ON LVND. Voided long cross with three pellets in each angle.

A few verdigris spots on the reverse otherwise very fine and richly toned.

Reportedly from the Brussels Hoard.

The Brussels hoard was discovered in 1908 by workmen demolishing an old tavern in the Rue d'Assaut, near St. Gudule. A large cauldron containing about 150,000 coins was found under a cistern in the kitchen. Of these coins, around 81,000 were British and were sold in one lot to A.H Baldwin.
