HENRICVS REX. Facing crowned bust holding sceptre. Chin whiskers made of small curls, 7 pearls to crown.
Reverse:
RAUL ON LVND. Voided short cross with quatrefoil in each angle.
A little off centre otherwise very fine and toned.
Published in SCBI 56 Mass - number 697 and 1 of only 11 coins published in the sylloge but not in the Mass collection, selectively included due to special features or moneyers missing from the collection. This coin is mentioned in the class II description, page 24 “An obverse die used by Raul of London displays seven pearls (697), a feature that actually anticipates the standard in class III."
