BVREHART ON TET. Cross fleury with annulet centre.
Official edge snick, scratched to the reverse otherwise good fine, toned and extremely rare with only 1 other example on EMC/SCBI. Excellent provenance.

This coin clearly assigns the moneyer Burehart to Thetford; previously, in Mr. Andrew's work, his provenance was not ascertained owing to the illegibility of the mint-name on the then known coins bearing his name."

"Certain coins in the collection call for more comment than can be included in the text facing the plates.... 1537 - Henry I type 11 (BMC 10) Thetford mint. This is from the same rev. die as the Hunter mule of BMC, types xi/x, BMC pl. clii. 5. Rust marks are visible in the field of the reverse of the mule which had not appeared on the die when this coin was struck."
